The Shandelee Music Festival is pleased to offer a unique,
musically enriching opportunity for talented local High School
pianists. We are pleased to announce “Piano 2009”
- a summer day camp program from July
31 – August 16, 2009.
The priority of the Festival is to provide an unparalleled
professional and inspiring environment to help support, guide
and train young pianists. The Festival engages the highest
caliber teachers, provides the very best instruments for
students to work on and offers an outstanding facility. Our
distinguished faculty includes Yelena Mamonova, Lana Ivanov and
Christopher Kennedy.
Summer DAY PROGRAM INCLUDES:

The Summer Day Camp tuition fee
is $550.00
per student. Scholarship awards are available for
students who meet the Festival’s requirements
and are based solely on the artistic and technical abilities
exhibited in the interview process.

Students
will be contacted to schedule an informal interview
which will be held
Sunday, May 17, 2009 - Liberty High School Theater.
Interviews will be scheduled individually giving Shandelee Music
Festival directors the chance to get to know the students and
find out about their background and musical interests. (years of
study, any performance history, NYSSMA participation, etc.) The
students will play two piano pieces of their choice during the
interview.
Students should be playing repertoire on the level of
approximately 5-6 years of private piano study. Suggested level
of repertoire: Bach 2 or 3 Part Invention, Bach Prelude,
Clementi Sonatina, Khulau Sonatina, Mozart Sonata (1 movement),
Beethoven Eccossaises, Chopin Waltz, etc.
