Founded in 1993, the Shandelee Music Festival offers a unique
program dedicated to the specific needs of exceptional pianists.
During the Festival, advanced piano students will study with a
faculty of distinguished artists. Daily interaction with guest
faculty and directors provide students with invaluable
opportunities to discuss concerns and exchange views on all
aspects of music making. Each student is encouraged to broaden
his/her musical awareness and develop technical mastery of their
instrument in an atmosphere that is both inspirational and
creative.
Shandelee is a small township located in the Catskill Mountains.
The Festival grounds are nestled on seventy-five acres of
tranquil natural beauty. The breathtaking mountainside, with its
delicately balanced inlay of streams, ponds and texture of woven
trees all contribute to an exhilarating environment. The
combination of the intense personalized program and the relaxed,
friendly atmosphere makes Shandelee the ideal musical
experience.
During this intensive program, students are offered private
lessons, performance opportunities and special programs, which
address the personal and professional concerns of aspiring
musicians.
