SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS
One of our dreams for the future is to be able to offer every
student we accept a tuition-free Festival. We hope to underwrite
the experience of each student, making their time at the
Shandelee Music Festival less of a financial encumbrance and
furthering our reputation as a Festival. We want students to
consider it a great honor to come to us. One way we can do this
is to offer the greatest privileges any Festival could offer.
With your help, we can accomplish our goals.
ESTABLISH YOUR OWN SCHOLARSHIP!
You may wish to create your own new scholarship. What a
wonderful way to help the Festival continue its mission while
supporting young talented pianists. Please contact us and we
would be happy to establish a scholarship fund for you.
The following Scholarship Funds are already in place, supporting
our students.
Jim Ricketts Memorial Scholarship
From deep respect for those who strive for excellence and
dedicate themselves passionately to their art, the Jim Ricketts
Scholarship is offered to students who, in their audition,
demonstrate outstanding ability.
Joseph D. Feuerstein Memorial Scholarship
Because of a tremendous love of the arts as well as a desire
to assist young artists carry on the great tradition of
classical music, the Feuerstein Family established The Joseph D.
Feuerstein Memorial Scholarship to be awarded to applicants
meeting the Festival's audition requirements.
C. J. Huang Foundation Scholarship
Due to the generosity of the C. J. Huang Foundation whose
primary goal is to promote and foster the education of
Asian-American students in the United States, the Festival
offers scholarships to qualified Asian-American pianists.
Mary Loftus Memorial Scholarship
The Festival Board pays tribute to one truly amazing woman by
offering scholarship assistance in her name. Native American,
Mary Loftus was one of the Festival’s most valued supporters.
Dorothy and David Silverman Memorial Scholarship
The SMF has established a scholarship in memory of a dear
friends and founding Board Members Dorothy and David Silverman.
They were a driving force behind the inception of the Festival.
Peter Bakstansky Scholarship
This scholarship was established to honor Peter Bakstansky
and is to be granted to a gifted pianist from either the La
Guardia High School of Music or from a public school. |
